After working as a doula, birth assistant, and student midwife for 7+ years, I have worked with many different midwives in both CA and TX. After attending just one birth as a birth assistant at Plano Birthplace, I was completely blown away at the skill, compassion, and truly family-centered care that Jeannine and Lindsay practice! Although I am friends and colleagues with many midwives in DFW, it was an EASY choice to choose Plano Birthplace for my own care.In Texas there are two types of midwives, and it was important for me to be under the care of a Certified Nurse Midwife, whose education and scope of practice is much more extensive than a CPM/LM. Another reason it was important for me to hire a CNM was to have a provider who had privileges at a hospital, in the rare case that I needed to transfer.Throughout my pregnancy I felt so celebrated, safe, empowered, and informed. When labor time came around, I was filled with so much peace and excitement in knowing that my midwives knew all of my birthing desires. With a small, intimate practice of just two midwives on the team, it really creates the opportunity for a close relationship that is what makes midwifery care so special. My birth was both beautiful and intense, and the way Midwife Lindsay stood by my side for more than “just” her medical tasks meant the world to me. Not only did she keep me and my baby safe, she also verbally encouraged and championed me the whole way. Lindsay’s wisdom on positioning and gentle guidance as I pushed my TEN pound baby girl helped me to have ZERO tearing!I hired Jeannine and Lindsay to provide the highest level of out-of-hospital prenatal, birth, and postpartum care. Beyond their expert clinical skills, they gave me and my family warm and precious memories of this pregnancy journey. They completely exceeded all of my expectations and I would shout from the rooftops for any mama considering a birth center birth to choose Plano Birthplace! Seriously, do it!
